"The name of the game is Texas Hold 'Em."

To join one of the games, just reply to the Email Invite that goes out two weeks prior.  After I have confirmations, I will bulk forward them to the host.  To make this simple for me, I am requiring an email address from each individual rather than one per couple to help me to keep track of playas.

At the events it will be simply Hold 'Em; $5 buy-in per round, number of rounds limited only by how late everyone wants to play.  Everyone receives $550 worth of chips to play with and the only way to get more is to take them from other playas, because:

~There are no re-buys per round.~

If you lose out, you are on your own until the next round starts, so don't lose out unless you would rather play Foosball or Darts or Air hockey or whatever, then feel free to just give me your money.

I'll take it, I'm not proud.

The Slop Chest.  There is a $1 kick to the Slop Chest at the beginning of every event you attend.  This is in addition to the $5 buy in per round and is per night, not per game.  The Slop Chest is won on the 2-4 combo only.  (This is in Honor of the Lakeville and Farmington Zip Codes; 55024 and 55044)  Any playa to win a hand which includes those two cards, empties the Slop Chest into their pocket and it remains empty until next event.  If the chest is not emptied, it just keeps filling at subsequent events until someone wins it all.  Effing sweet!

Question of the Day: Why does the phrase "Slop Chest" sound so dirty?

Answer: Because you are a low-minded pig and should be ashamed of yourself.

Rankings and the Tournament.  If you win a round at any scheduled event, you will earn 20 points per playa that you conquered in the round you won.  (For example; win at a table of seven otha playas, you earn 175 points)  Make 2nd place and you will earn a whopping 5 points per playa beaten.  This will be tracked and tabulated on the Rankings page, duh.  There are many scheduled events before the Tournament; and you can play at one or all of them, it doesn't matter.  At each Tournament, the rules will be slightly different; buy-in is jacked up to $10 and everyone attending will receive $1,100 in chips.  You will also receive additional chips equal to the number of points you earned in the Rankings over the season.  You do not have to win a game during the season to compete.  Whomever wins the tourney will receive a handsome trophy courtesy of VMS.  Think Stanley Cup.  Put your name on it and it's yours until the next tourney, then it is back up for grabs.  This effing sweet trophy is perfect for holding large drinks and is yours to sip from, if you win.  You thought that weird Samoan guy from World Poker Tour was intimidating?  Wait till the other playas see you at the table with this thick-ass vessel in your hand.  They will pee their pants a little when they see you coming.

Winnings.  Since the buy in is tiny, we keep it fairly simple; 3rd place gets 10%, 2nd place gets 25% and winner takes the remainder.  For those of you that went to a State University, that's 65%.  2nd and 3rd will receive a minimum of $5 regardless of the total pot.  He he he, I said total pot.
